Carey Campbell - bio

Carey is the Chief Nurse Advisor for the Southern Cross Hospitals network – a position she has held since October 2008. Prior to this she held a variety of clinical, education and nursing leadership roles at Waikato District Health Board.


Carey completed her initial nursing training at Waikato Technical Institute (currently Wintec), gained her BN through Massey University and more latterly a Post-Graduate Diploma in Health Leadership and Management and a Master in Health Practice at Auckland University of Technology.


She is a member of Nurse Executives of New Zealand (NENZ) and the College of Nurses Aotearoa.  Carey also chairs the Directors of Nursing group for the NZ Private Surgical Hospitals Association and Nurse Practitioner assessment panels for the Nursing Council of NZ.


Carey has a keen interest in quality systems and processes as well a passion for promoting and advancing nursing practice and the nursing profession.  Her interest in health informatics has spanned a number of years both in the public and private sector, with her current focus being clinical lead for the development and implementation of a Clinical Workstation into all of the Southern Cross Hospitals across NZ.
