Professor Norman Sharpe
Professor Norman Sharpe is Head of the Department of Medicine at the University of Auckland and Chief of Medicine at Auckland Hospital. With a background in preventive and clinical cardiovascular research, he has contributed to previous guideline work in the areas of hyperlipidaemia and hypertension. Professor Sharpe is Chairman of the New Zealand Guidelines Group.
Dr Rod Jackson
Dr Jackson is Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Head of the Department of Community Health at the University of Auckland. He has a particular interest in the application of epidemiological evidence to health care practice and policy including the development and implementation of evidence-based practice guidelines.
Dr Jackson has been a member of the NZGG Advisory Group since its inception and is director of the newly-formed Effective Practice Institute at the University of Auckland. He is also the New Zealand chair of the Australasian Epidemiology Association.
Professor George Rubin
Professor George Rubin is Director of the Australian Centre for Effective Healthcare (EHA) and Professor of Public Health and Community Medicine in the University of Sydney. He has a background in internal medicine and epidemiology.
Before establishing EHA, Professor Rubin was Chief Health Officer for New South Wales. He has extensive international experience in epidemiology and health policy, and a track record in the development of public health training and infrastructure as well as advocacy for effective health care.
