Financial Assistance Application

We are pleased to offer our members the opportunity to apply for financial assistance to attend conferences, seminars, and similar educational or research events. There is a personal maximum limit of $1500 to assist you with one of the following:

• Registration fees, or
• Accommodation costs, or
• Travel costs 

The total amount available annually is not intended for a single funding grant. Applications can be made at any time, but must be received by the Secretary at least six weeks prior to the event for which assistance is being sought.

Eligibility and evaluation criteria for financial assistance include the following:

• You have been an individual HINZ member for at least 12 months. If you don't know your membership number, please contact us.
• You have contributed to health informatics development in some way, such as written contributions for the website (or previously our newsletter), assisted with health informatics projects, support(ed) the Executive in their work, or presented papers at a HINZ conference or seminar.
• You are a New Zealand resident

Each application will be reviewed by the Executive committee and judged on its eligibility and individual merit.  Following the decision of the committee, the Chairperson will contact the applicant. Successful applicants are required to report back to the Executive committee following their attendance at the event.

The Executive committee is currently considering other opportunities to financially assist members.
