Waikato Telehealth After 5
Telehealth - the time has come….an increase in chronic conditions, growing consumer expectations of what the health system can deliver and advances in emerging technologies, present an opportunity to bring more of our health services into the digital age. This will be greatly assisted by the introduction of the UltraFast Broadband initiative.
The Waikato and adjacent regions are well positioned to pick up the challenge - our scattered population base with several satellite hospitals, and our status as innovators in new health concepts such as integrated family health centres, video consultation and remote monitoring of patients give us a natural lead.
Opportunity Hamilton, in association with the NZ Telehealth Forum, invites you to the Waikato Telehealth After Five, a presentation of local and nearby examples of Telehealth in use, followed by an establishment process for a regional working group to promote Telehealth across the Waikato.
When: 5 pm - 7 pm, June 28, 2012
