Approximately 500 ICT health scientists from all over Europe are expected to meet in the MECC Congress Centre in Maastricht from 27 – 30 August 2006.

Through plenary sessions, scientific oral and poster presentations, demonstrations and workshops, this congress offers a great opportunity for those who wish to maintain their expert knowledge and keep abreast of new developments.

In addition to the traditional topics of health and biomedical informatics, “Ubiquity: technologies for better health in aging societies”, a promising field for the future of health care, has been chosen as special topic for MIE2006.

Besides the scientific programme, the exhibition area will be the place where participants can get in touch with the different companies who will display their newest systems and products.

Maastricht will be the host city of the 20th International Congress of the EFMI. The city in the south of Holland is unique for its history and its present cultural life. It is a city where you will quickly feel at home.
