Grants and Financial Assistance

We are pleased to offer our members the opportunity to apply for financial assistance to attend conferences, seminars and related educational or research opportunities. There is a personal maximum limit of $1500 to assist you with one of the following:

  • A contribution to conference/seminar registration fees or
  • A contribution to accommodation costs or
  • A contribution to travel costs.

The total amount available annually is not intended for a single funding grant. Applications can be made at any time, but must be received by the secretary at least six weeks prior to the event assistance is being requested for. Click here to apply for funding assistance

Eligibility and evaluation criteria for financial assistance include the following:

  • You have been an individual member for at least 12 months.
  • You have contributed to health informatics development in some way, such as written contributions for the website (or previously our newsletter), assisted with health informatics projects, support(ed) the Executive in their work, or presentation of papers at the conference/seminar.
  • New Zealand resident
  • A completed application form (member login required)

Each application will be reviewed by the Executive committee and judged on its eligibility and individual merit. The Chairperson following the decision of the committee will contact the member applying for funding assistance. Successful applicants are required to report back to the Executive committee following their attendance to the conference/seminar.
