On behalf of the iSHIMR 2006 Organizing Committee, we would like to invite you to participate in the 11th International Symposium for Health Information Management Research (iSHIMR), which will take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada from July 14-16, 2006.

The conference theme for iSHIMR2006 is "Advancing Health Information Management and Health Informatics: Issues, Strategies and Tools". iSHIMR 2006 aims to bring together researchers in the general area of health information management and health informatics technology, and to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of their research activities. We therefore welcome paper/poster submissions and delegates from the healthcare community, particularly those with teaching/research responsibilities in health information management and health informatics, with clinical responsibilities, and those involved in provision of health information and knowledge services. Authors are invited to submit their research contributions or practical experience reports. All papers will be peer reviewed by at least 2 members of the programme committee, which will be chaired by Dr. Raza Abidi (Faculty of Computer Science, Dalhousie University, Canada) and Dr. Peter Bath (Centre for Health Information Management Research, University of Sheffield, UK). The Symposium Proceedings, including all full, short and discussion papers presented, and abstracts for posters and workshops, will be published both in print and CD form. In addition, selected papers will be published in future issues of the Health Informatics Journal (http://jhi.sagepub.com/), as has occurred in previous iSHIMR events.

Also, we would like to invite you to organize an invited session related to a topic of your research interest. If you are interested in organizing an invited session, please, contact the programme committee chairs.
